Jolene Mortimer

Jolene Mortimer, the founder, and owner of Jolene Mortimer Incorporated Biokineticists, has embarked on a personal journey of pain that she now considers a true blessing in her career. She grew up watching a mother who suffered from chronic pain and multiple misdiagnoses on an Auto-Immune Disorder.

This prompted an interest in the human body and how to heal it. Added to this, her personal experiences of chronic lower back and neck pain due to multiple herniated discs and spine degeneration, along with a multitude of other joint conditions (due to a suspected genetic cause), have provided her with a unique perspective and a heightened ability to empathize with her patients and the challenges they face. This understanding allows her to forge deep connections with them, fostering a safe and supportive environment where open expression of concerns and fears is encouraged.

Throughout her own recovery process, Jolene has discovered the remarkable power of Biokinetics (life thorough movement) in rehabilitating and strengthening the body. Witnessing the positive effects of exercise, movement, and targeted therapies in alleviating pain and restoring functionality has fueled her unwavering dedication to her clients’ well-being.

She possesses an innate ability to infuse her interactions with a wicked sense of humor, providing moments of levity and joy amidst the challenges her clients face. This unique approach, combined with her expertise, helps to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where her patients feel understood and supported.

As the founder and owner of Jolene Mortimer Incorporated Biokineticists, Jolene is not simply a healthcare professional; she considers herself an advocate for her patients. Supporting them through their individual pain journeys, Jolene empowers her clients to take an active role in their recovery process, facilitating their overall well-being.

Jolene’s personal struggles with back pain and her forthcoming cervical spine surgery have given her a deeper purpose in her work. Her pain has become a blessing, guiding her to a career that allows her to make a positive impact in the lives of others. Jolene is honoured to share her journey and knowledge with her clients, helping them overcome their own challenges on the path to improved physical health and well-being. To Heal, To Educate, To Move.

Chané Le Roux

As a child, Chané was absolutely fascinated by how stuff worked. Her gran once told her she showed them a beautiful music box with a dancing ballerina. While her cousins stood around admiring the music and the moving object, Chané was the one lifting it up, trying to figure out how it worked and where the music was coming from.

This curiosity extended to how the human body moved and the science behind it. That’s one of the major reasons she chose to pursue a career in a human movement-related field. Biokinetics, which focuses on the movement of the body, allowed her to combine her passion for understanding movement with the opportunity to work with diverse individuals and share her knowledge on how their bodies move and the reasons behind pain, discomfort, or dysfunction.

Chané’s decision to enter the field of Biokinetics was also influenced by her personal experience as a ballet dancer during her school years. However, when she reached the point where she had to start dancing on pointe shoes, her feet and ankles were too weak to support her, forcing her to give up ballet. Chané often reflects on how her current knowledge and expertise could have potentially allowed her to continue dancing if she had possessed them back then.

Chané’s ultimate goal as a Biokinetics practitioner is to help people maintain their ability to move to the best of their abilities. She finds joy in doing what she loves every day, using her passion, knowledge, and personal experiences to assist individuals in overcoming limitations, reducing pain, and improving functionality. By making a positive impact on the lives of others through her work, Chané finds fulfilment in her chosen career path: To heal, to educate, to move.
